TEVA Links MTB Shoes
Teva Links
After reading reviews from all the big bike blog sites the general opinion on Teva building a shoe to break into the bike market was going to be looked on with a degree of caution but all reviews we have read the Teva Links have been welcomed with open arms and we are no different here at Blazing Bikes.
Teva Links
First impressions with the shoe is that it striking, strong and well built. The quality is incredible and as I slipped on a pair from the rep, he very nearly didn’t get them back! They are beyond comfortable and offer a lot of upper support as well as an extremely firm base and heel support. The vain in me looked on in the mirror and thought how good these will also look hanging out down the pub after a ride. With a shocpad in the heel and a arch support they are an intensely fitting shoe.
Because TEVA wanted to get this right they employed the knowledge and skills of Jeff Lenosky who without doubt must be one of the most experienced MTB and trail rider around today. As he states he only wanted to develop a product that he could be in complete control of, so TEVA granted him this wish and however trivial the upgrade or thought it was all put into the development of this shoe. See his video at the bottom of this blog.
Above all else the interest in this product has to be in the fact that Teva are a brand born from the outdoors and all that goes with having the challenges mother nature can throw at you, so technology in this shoe is second to non. The P2i Ion-mask system is a polymer layer coated over the whole shoe which then sticks using an ionised gas to keep the product sound. This repels water and oil based liquids, this significantly reduces absorption and increases the breathability and keeps weight in the shoe to a minimum. They wont keep your foot dry if you have gone through deep water the shoe wont absorb any water!
The base is also something of a treat. The grip designs are focused built with the mountain biker in mind. Slip grip grooves at the front and the rear and a zig-zaged grip plate really give a tight grip on studded peddles, but then this is all made out of spider rubber, a superior technology used for extra grip design for wet and slippy designed footwear.
Teva Links
We think they are awesome and for a first attempt into the market these are serious contenders for top billing. Please Check out Jeff Lenoskys video here as he describes the shoe, the technology and the man hours that have gone into developing this shoe.
