The latest addition to Maxxis's collection of XC tyres is the Rekon Race. This tyre features a semi-slick tread design borrowed from the trail version of the Rekon, but with smaller and shorter knobs. It can be used as a rear tyre paired with a more aggressive front tread, or for short track racing use it on both the front and rear.Introducing the new MaxxSpeed Compound. This compound, used in Maxxis's cross country (XC) line, incorporates silica as a filler in the rubber polymer. The result is a compound that outperforms the old 3C MaxxSpeed compound in every aspect. Racers will benefit from reduced rolling resistance and improved wet traction.For over two decades, Maxxis has distinguished itself from the competition with the use of their 3C technology. This technology utilizes three different durometers of rubber in a single tyre. However, in the development of the new topshelf XC compound, Maxxis focused on overall performance rather than a specific number of compounds.
